Established in 1972, the Robert Shone Farm currently
operates as a self-sustaining 365-acre farm near the Russian River, generating income from the sale of grapes from the College’s
vineyard operation as well as oat hay, oat silage, and sheep and beef cattle operations. The farm offers students
majoring in agriculture and forestry diversified, hands-on educational opportunities and internships. Produce raised in farm
gardens are used in SRJC’s Culinary Training Program. A new Agriculture Pavilion and Equestrian Facility
is now under construction.
Within the Ag Pavilion amongst high tech viticulture equipment, student dormitory,
and larger than life class rooms, a premium multi-use indoor arena will be included allowing for year-round riding!

The plans for a 50ft. round pen & a full size out-door sand arena
with viewer's bleachers are currently being finalized.
Located between the Ag Pavilion and the Belden Center, an 18 horse pipe-stall
barn will be constructed to house the riding horses for the duration of the classes. When the horses are not being worked,
they will roam on some of the 100 acres of irrigated and non-irrigated pastures!
